In this hands-on workshop, attendees will learn and work with some more advanced tools and techniques in Photoshop.    General Photoshop skills are required.

Retouch and Heal

  • Goals in retouching
  • Colour adjustment
  • Cloning and content aware tools
  • Content Aware Cloning
  • Painting with the Spot Healing Brush
  • Healing Brush tips and tricks
  • The straight line heal trick
  • The standard Healing Brush
  • Flipping and rotating source areas
  • Whitening teeth with the Sponge tool
  • Learning to use Dodge and Burn
  • Reshaping with Liquify
  • Selective recolouring
  • Working on skin texture

Advanced Text

  • Understanding vector type
  • Create and scale a line of type
  • Type formatting options
  • Using the Character panel
  • Finding the perfect font
  • Creating and editing paragraph text
  • Understand leading, kerning and spacing
  • Using antialiasing for very small text
  • Aligning multiple layers
  • Text along a circle
  • Finding special characters with Glyphs
  • Double stroking a circle

This is a hands-on workshop, so attendees must bring a laptop with Photoshop CC installed and active and have downloaded the workshop images in advance.  A link will be provided to registrants in advance of the class to download the working files.  A Wacom tablet is not required but may be advantageous.
